Recent graduates of the UCLA program in Musicology won two highly competitive positions in the inaugural New Faculty Fellows program of the American Council of Learned Societies. Drs. Holley Replogle-Wong and Elizabeth Morgan were chosen from over 800 applicants for the prestigious fellowship, which supports the awardee for two years at participating colleges and universities. Replogle-Wong, whose dissertation examines the "mega-musical" in the context of middle-brow culture, will be working and researching for the next two years in the Music Department at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan, whose research focuses on women at the piano in the eighteenth century, was also awarded a fellowship, but declined it in favor of a tenure-track job at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. There was only one other recipient from a music-related discipline, so we are very proud of both our two students and our department's showing.
